Can I change my client's bank account details?
No, it is not possible to change a client's bank account information within Linktopay.
When a client makes the first payment (via iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort, credit card, or PayPal), a mandate is created by Mollie to allow for SEPA direct debit. This creates a triangular agreement between Linktopay, Mollie, and the client's bank account. Once the mandate is established, it cannot be updated or changed.
If a different bank account needs to be used for future payments, a new mandate must be created for the new bank account. This can only be done by initiating a new first payment with the updated bank details. In other words, the client would need to repurchase the product or subscription using the new bank account information.
